     Raya Sacco was born and raised in Metro Detroit. She attended DePaul University and graduated in 2015 with a degree in journalism hoping to someday become a writer for a fashion magazine. 

    Raya began her career in fashion as an intern for Nylon Magazine in 2015 in New York. After one day assisting a stylist on set for a Steve Madden campaign, she decided that she wanted to turn her passion as a stylist into a career. 

    For three years, Raya honed her skills as a freelance stylist in the bustling fashion hub of New York City. Yet, she felt a yearning for something more meaningful in her work- a desire to bring high fashion design and lifestyle to her hometown of Detroit.

     In 2020, she took the bold step of launching her business, focusing on curating vintage pieces for both men and women while introducing independent designers to the Midwest market. Despite her initial success, Raya's quest for a deeper connection to her purpose persisted. 

     In 2022, a pivotal moment of clarity revealed her lifelong dream and passion for fashion design. She dedicated herself to mastering the art of sewing, with the goal of creating her sustainable lifestyle brand. 

     Raya's vision for sustainable clothing for both women and men centers on repurposing quality fabrics like denim, leather, and knits. Her brand, RAYA, is a testament to eco-friendly practices and a commitment to conscious consumers seeking one-of-a-kind pieces and exceptional craftsmanship. Inspired by Detroit's vibrant music scene and its raw architectural beauty, the RAYA brand harmoniously blends natural elements and textures with futuristic design concepts. 

     In essence, Raya Sacco's journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication to sustainable fashion, her Detroit roots, and her profound commitment to creating a brighter, more eco-conscious future for the fashion industry.

Before diving into the world of fashion, I took a detour through the future, working as a Service & Applications Engineer for cutting-edge companies like RoboTire and EnvisionTEC. Picture this: I was part of a 10-person dream team, jet-setting across North America, installing robotic vehicle maintenance systems. If that doesn't scream 'futuristic,' I don't know what does!

In my past life at EnvisionTEC – a Desktop Metal Company, I became a globetrotter extraordinaire, delighting high-profile customers across the globe with my customer service prowess. I wasn't just an engineer; I was a jet-setting troubleshooter, a mentor, and a beta-test aficionado, ensuring our products were top-notch.

When I'm not perfecting the art of clothing manufacturing, you'll find me juggling not just tasks but also tennis balls. From mastering Rockwell Automation to jamming on drums, guitar, bass, piano, and clarinet – I've cultivated a symphony of skills that translates into the precision and harmony you can expect from HAUS of RAYA.

My journey from High School to Wayne State University, where I'm completing my M.S. in Electrical Engineering, has been nothing short of a musical composition.

From C++ and Python to sewing stitches with the precision of a master craftsman, I've honed skills that bridge the gap between the digital and textile worlds. Rocking Logix 5000 and dancing through MATLAB, I bring a symphony of skills that ensure your clothing is not just stitched but composed with perfection.

When I'm not immersed in the world of circuits and clothing, I'm exploring the eclectic – from lock-picking to unicycling, and diving into the depths of creativity. My passion for life transcends the ordinary, much like the exceptional garments we create.
